The “My Healthy Family” Survey
An invitation to you, a survey about the future of Family Health.
Or, some Thoughts before you begin:
The Covid-19 Pandemic has left us all with much to ponder. Life has changed dramatically. How much of that change will become permanent remains to be seen. However, what has become clear is that there are some things that do need to change.
Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chair of the World Economic Forum, and Therry Malleret, Economic Forecaster and Futurist, published a stunning book in July titled “Covid-19: The Great Reset”. The book explores what happened, how it happened, why it happened, what may now happen and what must now happen.
The severe economic lockdowns we have experienced have been only one reason. Governments across the world were fearful that if there was a mass surge of infections, our Healthcare Systems would surely collapse, which could lead to a complete breakdown in society, such is the fear associated with disease, medicine and mortality.
The question that Schwab and Malleret ask, and I too have been asking, is “Why does a wealthy society like ours experience so much ill health that our health care system is under constant duress?” Further, how to we justify a continual spiralling cost of health care, year after year. We spend billions and are still no closer to finding cures for our most common diseases.
Dr Richard Carmona, 17th Surgeon General of the United States said at a conference I attended in 2017, “The US spends 19% of GDP on Healthcare, and 80% of that is spent treating completely preventable disease.” He went on to say that the system is so broken, that the costs keep rising, more and more people fall out the bottom end because they can no longer afford the cost, and a small group within society become more and more wealthy. There is no equity left in healthcare.
The part I am interested in here is that he states that 80% is spent treating completely preventable diseases. What is he talking about? Heart Disease, Diabetes, Arthritis and most Cancers. For decades we have been told these are genetic conditions, but modern research, for more than 20 years now, has proven beyond any doubt that these are all lifestyle diseases. Wealthy societies succumb to these diseases as we become lazy, over consuming gratification seekers.
DNA testing on human remains discovered in Egyptian archaeological digs have shown that the mummified bodies were riddled with the same diseases that have been killing us: cancer and heart disease.
In the 1920’s, nearly 100 years ago, John D. Rockefeller saw a huge opportunity to make great wealth with medicine. He started the first pharmaceutical companies, sponsored University Teaching Hospitals and was a pivotal player in the formation of the AMA. He launched Industrialised medicine, a system that can only make profit if people are sick.
One of the first strategies of the AMA was to take healthcare out of the hands of mothers and place it in the hands of the male doctor. Prior to this time, women were the keepers of Health Wisdom and knew how to keep their families healthy and well. Doctors were only used if someone became sick or injured.
We have now arrived at a point where few people are clear about what is healthful and what is not. Advertisers throw the word health around like beach ball in a pool of seals. Most doctors get no training in health and wellness. Their primary training is about prescribing medications and detecting diseases that can be referred to specialists.
I believe that it is time to put the knowledge back into the hands of mothers, so that they may guide and nurture their families to live healthful, robust and deeply happy lives.
Of course, you may not agree with me, and that is completely ok with me.
I am planning to develop an online course that will teach Mothers, and Fathers too if they wish, all they need to know to achieve outstanding good health and wellness for themselves and their children, and to be able to support initiatives to bring good health into your community.
This survey is for me to gain a deeper understanding of your viewpoint, outlook, needs, fears, hopes, understanding ad interest in the subject, and your possible interest in learning more, much more.
So please, take the time to complete this survey. And may I ask that, if you know other Mum’s with kids under 18 who might be willing, please pass it on to them too. I’d dearly like to get at least 2000 responses.
If you want to read more about the course before you continue, please click here.
Thankyou in advance.
May you live a long, healthy, and happy life.
